sucky when younger kids are targeted/don't know better. i guess some ppl would go through puberty and 'rebel'/not take it seriously but i wonder how many 'anti scamming' stuff is taught in school but i don't know if this generation would also be like "Don't talk to/meet ppl online" but other than public spaces like cosplay conventions with tiktok and such i can imagine it's easier for ppl to find info (although i know it's not a 'scam' but i wouldn't even trust myself with a credit card)
oof reminds me of those old school 'makeup kits' ppl would try to sell
but even w/o the mlm scheme aside wonder how many ppl are sociable enough to do one on one sales or door to door stuff versus office work
Unfortunately, anyone can be a sucker. As much as we can smugly say that we won’t fall for it, people can fall for it, will fall for it, and will continue to fall for it.
Hell, when I was a kid sometimes I would orbit close to these sorts of scams. When I graduated high school and was worried about finding a job, one of the first opportunities someone gave me was a position at CutCo. I was lucky that my family knew it was an MLM, but at the time I could’ve definitely fallen into that hole.
And that’s true for all of us. No matter how confident we are, there’s always a hole we can fall in.
