Crazy that Ninten and Giygas have also been immortalised in newspaper form, not to mention there being an explicit link between Mother 1 and 2 in this manga. Itoi's always maintained that the possibility of a connection between the games is something for the player to decide on. Guess it also means that the cursed fan theory of Ness being Ninten and Ana's offspring is canonically false - at least as far as a secondary source that serves as a re-imagining of the main game is concerned
