What? Who? When did I follow this and why does it say chapter 1 on the listing but is actually chapter 6?

I vaguely remember the volume 1 cover art, probably read a synopsis ages ago and added to my watch list, but why is the translation starting with ch6? I have no idea who the characters are and what's happening. Also, is this a genderbend, or are the pronouns a translation error?
