@Leviathanmiuna As far as I can tell it's just a new adaptation of the story with little connection to the original aside from the base concept and the main character. The main thing that could tie in is a prequel manga that talked about Kuroi's backstory but none of it has been translated, and finding raws for a 3 decade old manga is more than a little difficult...
