I'm really curious what Metis is actually thinking here.
It seems like a failure in logic (and/or compassion) to essentially recreate the inciting incident; a human death provoking an AI that had expanded beyond its initial limits.
(Though admittedly I'm also unclear as to how exactly Metis taking over Erio's body would accomplish the initial motivation of ending bigotry & self-destructive conflicts. Has Metis fallen for a Great Woman theory of history?)
Interesting that Erio appears to have walked right into a simulation.
