Letting your child to have a taste of wine (mixed with water) is something I've heard is common in countries where wine is rather common drink. Still parenting choices are up to them parents.

You should not asume everything is period accurate in a comic. This is just a one view point of the author's "fantasy" of the times. Of course, I would not deny that these things were impossible things of the time. But it definitely was not so "black and white". Simply there was all kinds of things and we mainly see the most striking and talked matters.

This is a cute chapter, but honestly I was hoping for something with a bit more emotional depth. I know this series is capable of it, but instead it's just a breezy fable. Mami's charity is even presented as frivolous, although her kindness does return in the end.
The moral ends up being, "it's good to have money, anyway! you can even goof off and pretend to be a bum!" without a thought to the actual homeless. I think that angle would have worked better if the other half of the chapter was about showing the bustle and stress of the CEO lifestyle, rather than contrasting the ostentatious glamour of the restaurant against the pitiful have-nots.
