@cyphexada given his personality and slightly yanderish traits, I wouldn't be surprised if he had planned to have someone pretend jump her so he could swoop in and "save the day" earning her approval in a monopolizing fashion ( judging by how compliant the large dude became after male mc appeared, also the timing of it all seemed too perfect for it not to been thought out before hand) but when she went to thank him he had dropped the tracker and it ruined the whole thing. if this was a shounen I would have assumed it was all just coincidence, but we're dealing with characters that aren't all that mentally sound in the head, so its not implausible. anyways I'm standing by my view until later chapters make it clear what lines he won't cross.
