I'm sorry, whatever brainwashing she's a victim to, that's cold as ice.
This chapter and the next one, she just uses cheater gaslighting language the entire time.
I'm sorry, but if this is who she is when the brainwashing is at it's weakest, then seriously, good riddance.
The others all find the situation funny. How much if that is the brainwashing and how much of that is them being people whose natural defense mechanism against acknowledging their cruelty is more cruelty?
None of them actually deserve redemption, at least not with Ark. They can go live their lives elsewhere, and be aware that they lost him forever, not because of what they did while they were brainwashed, but because their default response when trying to rationalize bad behavior that can't be rationalized is to just be worse.
