Can they even shoot the beast in that situation? Not only are the beast helping, they are right next to civilians. Regular bullet are known to do nothing, and bigger firepower will result in collateral. Not to forget that rogue broadcasting station. Unless they want to bomb both groups, they can't do much. The gunfire curtains can only deter, not kill.
