If reading the LN/WN fixes the first chapter that means the first chapter of the manga is poorly written..... The whole kicking out the Holy Sword user while letting him live is bad writing though, theres no disputing this as he's a threat to the 1st princes rule. Why keep him alive? Also you've pissed off/betrayed said Holy Sword user whom is supposed to be the true ruler of the land totally can't see how that would backfire no siree.

No, the 1st chapter is perfect setup for the coming chapters. But most of the comments right now kept bashing this manga for no apparent reason, but if you read the the WN/LN that WOULD be turned into a manga, it would made sense. at the very least wait until at the peak point when Brionac Vs Dáinsleif happened
And to your question, why keep him alive? Granard wanted to kill him at the spot lol. But the Prime Minister persuade him not to and there's also mixed feeling that Granard suffered. [Blame it on the founder of Zain Kingdom.]
And lastly, I think people who keep bashing the manga should stop reading[not being sarcastic] because in the long run, there's another Holy Sword user who is also a crybaby. [Blame it on his father]

What are you even talking about bashing for no reason? They literally gave reasons why it sucks. It's simply a bad first chapter. You can have a great WN/LN but your manga adaptation can be shit cause it skips a lot of stuff.

What are you smoking? What do you mean perfect setup? There is absolutely no perfect setup here. And don't bring up the WN or LN because we're taling about the Manga here. If the setup in the WN and LN is better than the Manga, why wasn't chapter 1 expanded more to add everything here and make it the so called perfect setup?
People aren't hating it for no reason, people are hating it for the most obvious reasons (which they've stated) that you seem to have glanced over.
A lot of WN and LN's get turned into manga's and even anime, that doesn't mean they're good. That is not to say that someone who likes those has bad taste, hell, I enjoyed some really shitty WN's / LN's in the past which got turned into Manga's that I still enjoyed.
