People who want him to rape her or beat her senseless missed the point.

She exploited a vulnerable man who's only known abuse, torment and misery. She destroyed his only effective coping mechanisms to deal with the injustices he's faced. It's been said multiple times if he kills a person, he is not going to be the same by the end of it, and him killing lust Kratos-style for all the trauma she's caused him won't undo the trauma.

This reminds me a lot of the scene in God of War Ragnarok where Kratos

and Mimir tells him that "This isn't who you want to be." The same principle fits here. If he kills her, he's not proving her wrong, he's proving her right and it won't end well for either of them.
