The family is nearly always bad. Sometimes, expectations are subverted, but this appears to be the usual zamaa (serves you right!) setup.

Is that a bad thing? Hell no, the details are what matter, not the outline. For example, why the poison in the teacup? It's plain that's been happening for years, so is there something behind that? The "real" sister... Well, not for nothing was one titled "I Was The Real One." Is that what's going on here?

I don't know, and that's why I enjoy seeing them!

So many questions, so much we already have small clues and foreshadowings of, but I don't know where it'll go. If I drop a series, it's usually either much later, or when it very clearly turns out to be misery porn.

But the raven is likely a real time spy wot reports to the prince, be it an animal, or one of them thar Royal Assassin types.

And yes, the eyes are great in this. I see them a fair bit, but, as an artist, I can tell you getting them like that takes about four or five layers (as compared to the 2 or 3 for the skin), good airbrush work, attention to detail... The only way I'd have more respect for the artist who drew those eyes is if they were one of them 1-layer madlads.

Yes, seriously, there are people out there who can do all this with only one paint layer, and I think that's scarily good...
