I get the feeling the MC was pulled into the original Roland's body by a witch's ability (probably this group of witches inhabiting GPW bodies) as a way to create a "chosen one" to defeat the demons, but they don't know his identity so now witch 76 is seeking out who he is. He even commented that his takeover of the body felt like how Zero's ability was described to him.
