I'll give the story props for at least giving the antagonist a real reason to be doing the shit he's doing. He needs a proper human chimera core to give to his mom so she can turn back into herself and while it probably won't work the way he wants to (I really doubt that the memories that have been lost as a result of previous fusions will come back) but hey it's the only thing that could possibly give him what he wants so fair enough.
