Ritsuka/the FGO MC was literally just bussed in at the last second as a seat filler for Chaldea, they were never intended to do anything more than show up for the ceremonial theatrics, then get sent home once Team A started work because they already had a full team of Rayshift-capable people. Then Flauros threw a (literal) grenade into things and welp.

Wait, is this the actual lore or just in this comic? I play in jp server but recently i'm just going on and off on it and last I played was maybe few months ago or last year but have little understanding of it. [Currently on LB 3 or 4?]

It's the actual lore, it comes up several times at various points in the plot but it's more directly referenced in later things and in events; that part of the reason we're so good at getting along with so many Servants is because we're not a pretentious knob from one of the Big Houses, we're just A Dude/Dudette. We're a dogshit Mage, but we're a good person.
