The idea of everyone that dies in a singularity dying around the same time IRL makes no sense, and I'm glad they just kinda ignore it after this. Because if that were true, why does America still exist after the hyper-murder that happened in the American Singularity?

Fairly speaking, no one significant died there, at least not shown. The White House was probably captured by Medb's army before Culter settled there.

You need a population to have a country. If a majority of the people in the US suddenly died at around the same time, even if each death was changed from what it was in the singularity, the nation would die.

If there are millions of early Americans that got whittled down to a few thousands then it's still viable to make a nation. Especially if there are immigration.

Nasu kinda explained that the greater the deviation from history the more the rebound of the singularity recover is, meaning that anything that severely deviates from history will actually find itself being fixed up even more then it normally should. We see this in several interludes in Mesopotamia where not only is Gilgamesh still alive after the singularity recovers, Siduri returns too off screen
