What I like about this story so far is that the FL ex-Fiancee honestly had a reason for strongly suspecting the FL of poisoning the imperial princess with how obsessive she was with him, so I honestly do not hate him. But with the father I'm not so sure, he was the reason why the FL grew up with a lack of affection and went obsessive with her fiancee for her need for love and affection.
I hate the father, he's garbage for no reason. He's the whole reason she's messed up, living her entire life feeling unloved and unwanted.
But as they always do, it'll turn out he loves, he just "doesn't know how to show affection". eff off.
The father must have some kind of communication disorder, where he simply can't talk properly with his child.
Also, I'm gonna defend Mikhail here a little. Wouldn't anyone be uncomfortable with a girl that is so clingy that they would bully any other girl that gets close to them? If it were me, I'd want to keep my distance and even cut ties with them if it happened.
My guess is that he gave her that sword as a proof of her identity when the knight came in to break her out under the guise of torturing her. That's probably why the dad was like endure it. Even tho he still shit for treating her horribly but it's probably a "who made my princess" situation
