You know i get the criticism, there's poverty tourism, tragedy voyeurism (both the mom and sister are sick), and savior complex

But there's also a lot of self reflection, and an acceptance of the circumstance being shown without sugarcoating things or ignoring the social factors that lead to the reality being shown

Plus the characters are endearing and make you want to root for them, without making a caricature out of them
