Idk how different the drama was from the source material, but I hope this is more satisfying than the drama was.

I HATED the drama, I feel like i'm still opening myself to heartbreak with this webtoon based on the novel... Even though there is a supposed 'happy ending.'
@Nerdygirl70 Well- C-government banned transmigration (time travel) dramas so it did get changed up quite a lot.

I felt like I was reading a Wikipedia page during this whole chapter lol. It reminded me of a YouTube video explaining the most handsome men in history and someone was like, Handsome men? Same timeline? Harem manga!

Wow, this is so detailed and interesting, the art is beautiful and I didn't know there's even a novel and series about it! I'm gonna try to look for them and see if I find it with subtitles >o<

Oh wait... I read the comments... was the drama bad or what happened? Haha, I like to cry but I need some hope, pls.
Edit: Oh wait, I already looked for the drama and yeah, I saw it too, it was such disappointment... so much potential was wasted. :/

@Writerfromanotherstar sorry for tagging u months after your comment but I'm curious, why transmigration was banned? Because yeah, even with huge productions I've seen they changed that part from the original stories. ono

The historical notes at the end... XD What a shit-show.

She sounds like she was probably both quite the character, and also relatively horrible, to the extent the historical record is in any way accurate. But the man who ordered her slain for "immorality"—how dare a woman have a harem, hah. Bloody hypocrites.

@AiriAi hey maybe you already know the answer since it was 6 months ago, but I'll still explain just in case : transmigration stories (as well as time travel) are forbidden in chinese TV productions because "some people are too delusional and may believe it can be real" (when you see how much transmigration/time travel chinese webnovels there are, it's not really surprising that some dumb people believe it can be real), so these stories, when getting a drama adaptation, get heavily censored or even self-censored (it was the case for the 2nd season of 步步惊心, which was released in two versions, one censored, the other not).
Nonetheless, it's pure BS imo uwu just like the prohibition of 早恋, "early love" (aka love story in highschool setting), if you watch c-dramas you might have notice that even though the characters often get acquainted in HS (or earlier), they don't start going out until university years or even later, this for avoiding chinese highschoolers thinking that it is okay to have a boyfriend/girlfriend instead of studying for the gaokao (which again, is total BS imo but whatever)

@Yori-chan loool, I do agree is so dumb, but being honest, I think it kinda makes sense for their specific country?

I mean, I lived two years in Japan, another in S.Korea and 7 months in Hong Kong, and thanks to that, I was able to visit China many times and trust me, people there are so controlled that they tend to do so many crazy things because 1) their common sense doesn't longer exist, 2) because they need a way to release the many hidden emotions they have or 3) because seriously some of them can't tell the difference between many wrong things or between reality and fantasy.

Also, since they're hyper controlled in basically everything, and they can't learn whatever they want (since everything that the goverment thinks is wrong is banned), it's no wonder that there are such laws, since there are people who thinks or believes in such absurd things.

That's why most rich Chinese or with certain economic level must go outside of their country to learn and view the world, otherwise they'd be completely under what their goverment decides to do.

The Chinese goverment also likes to treat its people that way to mantain the control, so yeah, it's BS but kinda makes sense for them, lol. 🤷🏻‍♀️
