The hole in the blade slightly annoys me...
I know scalpel blades have holes so they can be attached to the handle and replaced when needed, but when attached to the handle the hole should be filled by the attachment clip.

Then again, if she is replicating it from looks alone, it is somewhat understandable

Some scalpels currently used are made of knapped obsidian, as it is sharper. Trying to get that done well to sell would be too high of a challenge though.

I just hope he doesn't use lead in the mix.

Saddened that the related novel chapter isn't listed anymore, but I could roughly guess at chapter# x 3.
