hello,
I'm looking for quite old manga, probably from 90's.
Each chapter was separate story, linked by detective agency from Tokyo, if I remember it well.
Cases havn't been criminal thou, it was more like slice of life. I can recall three stories:

1. chrismas story about jazz pianist, whose litle daughter was dreaming about beautiful but expensive christmas tree. She finds one in some store. The tree has quite unusual shape, not a triangle, more like cypress. Dad was struggling, but get a job in christmas eve. When he took hist child to the shop for that specific tree, it was already sold. Nontheless kid said, that Tokyo tower is most beautiful christmass ttee and wasn't upset.

2. bodyguard or chauffer meets lady selling street nodles and she reveals, that his empoye, young star, not sure, if she was actress or singer, is her abandoned daughter. Mother was poor or too young to handle maternity, so she left her and now she cries about it. Man takes star to the noodle cart and gives opportunity to reunite mother and daughter, but mother keeps her secret. She is just happy she could give noodles to her lost girl.

3. snowmen. I remember there was young guy who left his family. His girlfriend or someone close to that finds him and tries to get him back, but he has one condition: she has to build many snowmen, I dont remmember exact number, but it seems to be impossible. Due to quite dry, not sticky snow, she f
feventually fails. Her snowmen are tiny and looks more like little hats, they are not made from stacked snow balls.

Anyone remember anything? Hope so:)

Hi, I don’t recognize the title right away, but the way you describe it really feels like a 90s slice-of-life manga, especially those quiet, emotional short stories that were popular back then. The themes you mention—small human moments, bittersweet reunions, and winter settings—remind me a lot of works by Jirō Taniguchi or Retro Bowl manga in a similar vein, where chapters are loosely connected rather than following a single, overarching plot. I hope someone here remembers the exact title, because your memories sound very vivid and beautifully specific.
