I'm struggling to follow what's happening here. So, the father orchestrated this whole thing to prevent his daughter from getting older and growing distant, right? I can guess that him blaming the other woman was a misdirect, but why was the daughter so happy to see him? She rushed to hug him and said "I had no idea that father would be so sad" which makes it sound like she actually killed herself. Not sure who was trying to do what, here.

She did as far as I'm reading. There was a family debacle cause the guy was gonna stand down before giving 2nd wife family rights or 'sum and they argued. Daughter sees this and remedies the situation by killing herself.
