I love bespoke consumer cooperatives. Most of the time a local tailor will occupy a space and nearby there's people selling fabrics, all you have to do is show up, get your measurements, pick a fabric and show them the design. No surplus charges unless you ask for them to rush it and it always comes out great, unique and about 10-15% cheaper than a retailer selling the same thing.
Big bonus if you have your own sewing machine or some rudimentary knowledge of altering clothes (a worthwhile trade if you want to avoid fast fashion but also want to participate in trends) you can upcycle your shit endlessly by altering or modifying them. Have enough modified pieces and you sell stuff you're bored with
