Maybe it’s just me but I’ve noticed the whole “defending my mom from my abusive dad, but she ended up turning on me or hating on me” trope quite often in martial arts stories and I can’t help but wonder


Why is this so common? Is this a real life phenomenon that happens after kids defend their parent?
