Another great chapter from this manga as expected. Though the story meaning is a bit lost on me. When the old man asked so that he can never deliver the letter, does he asked for death? Since it seems he value his pride for the job over it, but it also doesn't want to bring ruin to the people.

I think the boy trapped him in a dreamworld where he can continue delivering letters with pride.

I see, I think that makes more sense. And its quite merciful from the boy.

I feel like I grasp the story better now. Its basically how the boy start to appreciate the pride that the old man has for his job. The boy was dismissive at such concept (as it should be, as there are more examples of having pride as something negative), but the old man through his dedication shows his pride for his job, so the boy gives him mercy at the end.

I like the lesson his father imparted upon him. Just because it's a job that anyone can do doesn't mean no one has to do it. What makes it better is that the father only received that epiphany recently too, despite delivering mails his entire life.
