Maaan, Hyou is really of a different mindset altogether. Doesn't care about the structure, about being praised nor erected on a pedestal. If that's the case, what DOES she care for? Survival maybe? Something grander, path to which being her training? She doesn't seem malicious nor mean, not arrogant nor driven. It's quite to compete against somebody not interested in being anybody's rival at all.
I wonder about Zanka's sister now - did she fail miserably? Died? Did her failure destroy her life or mind? Is Zanka trying his best and being so harsh on himself, because he promised her something? Because he just doesn't want to repeat her mistakes?
I love how little (or a lot, depending on how you classify it) ego Zanka has inside himself. He's not confident at all, he wants to be. He's not talented enough to bridge the gap, he trully doesn't believe himself to be "him", but he's faking it all the same on the outside. He laughed at the other guys, but they're doing the same thing. It's just a different kind of fakeness.
He's trying to be a role model and stick to his way of doing things, keep up the appearance expected of him as a part of Nijik family. Now that I think of it though - on what authority Nijik family and Hell's Guardians have the power they do? What's the structure here? Are they just respected due to being powerful and wealthy, thus they can make normal people conform to their way of doing things?
I hope to learn more about the basics of living inside the Pit one day. I need a few pieces of a puzzle to get it.
