So we know have the new girl from the cover. So far it seems her role might be to make Ijichi and Amane jealous and tease them about their feelings for Otaku kun. Normally I'd say that won't prevent her from falling for him too...but she mentioned an yet to be introduced first minion that might be her actual love interest. Now assuming she's not a love rival, the question is, how this would affect the development between the main characters? Will Amane and Ijichi keep doing nothing if they learn they don't have to worry about the new girl, or seeing an otaku x gal romance from a third person perspective will give them motivation to pursue actively the boy they like?
Speaking of the main heroines, so dar they don't see each other as rivals, but will this stay true once they realize they are not gibe with the status quo with Otaku kun and want a deeper relationship?
So far there hasn't been a clear indication on which girl our protagonist might choose if asked two. Of course the hope is that this is an hint he will end up dating both, but the possibility there will only be one winner, or even worse we'll get an ambiguous open ending, is still here.

I think it's pretty clearly implied that Ushio is a gal who has a different otaku love interest, with the same dynamic where he's unable to even imagine that she'd be into him romantically. That being the case, I think her true purpose in the plot is to demonstrate to Seo (through resolving her own romantic subplot) that being romantically involved with Amane or Ijichi is a real option. I don't think Amane or Ijichi needs more motivation at this point, they've gradually progressed to the point where they openly admit to having romantic feelings for him, and Ijichi was even about to make a serious move at the amusement park. Seo is the real roadblock to romantic progression, and I think Ushio is here to change that.
