Next arc:

Or you know, they could've just waited for Kazuya to wake up and tell him that he's safe.

I wish Kazuya died.

It's always sad if people die, and were only responsible for our own actions to a degree, as we are shaped by our circumstances, but still...

*He* is the one who set up a murdermachine for the express purpose of seeing people murdered.
*He* is the one who was stupid enough to implement cheating features, but not give himself full control.
*He* is the one who was stupid enough to engage in a life-or-death gamble, and lost.
*He is the one who didn't believe his enemy after he revealed what the situation looked like, *despite* the latters begging and pleading, and even though Kaiji was shown to care for others.
*He* is the one who has enticed Kaiji and the others into betting their lives, taunting them about it repeatedly
*He* is the one who has done this with several people already, for no other purpose than his own sick and twisted enjoyment.

Kazuya is an insane, narcisstic, over-privileged serial killer. While redemption is possible, and no one is helped by his death, it doesn't exactly feel fair the guy gets off scot-free after all his utter wrongdoing. I suppose life isn't fair, and being rich helps you avoid even the most appropriate consequences for your actions.

Except... fuck this shit. It's not like there's a guarantee he'll wake up as a better man. There is no guarantee he'll self-reflect, find a better life, and stop killing other people. It's equally likely he'll just stay a narcisstic manbaby, accuse poor people of being devious, and continue with his murdering spree to satisfy his hurt ego. For the sake of any and all potential future victims, someone like Kazuya really should have died.

No redemption, no mercy, for the dangerously criminal who can not be stopped.

I get that, but it'd kinda go against the whole theme of this arc (and the previous). Kaiji and Kazuya have been debating for so long about whether people are innately good or not and if they really show their "true selves" when put into extreme situations such as this. It's not even about redemption, really; it'd just feel weird, narratively, if Kaiji just let Kazuya die now. (Even if he does deserve it, lol)
