They probably did 'break up', but they were never REALLY 'together'. The emotional bond is still there, but now there's no facade of social pairing. And maybe now Ryou can start to come to terms with himself and his feelings.

I kind of thought their being a couple was a shaky deal from the start, but it's still a bummer watching it wither away like this. But Memeko sure did a lot of growing up in this arc. Here's hoping that Mr. Right will be showing up sometime soon.
