I'm not sure I can agree. AI has easily made me 2-3x more performant and it's extremely easy to scale and extend to other people in my industry. It's why cursor just got a second round of over 2 billions

The biggest issue with the AI industry is not about how useful it is but if someone can monetize it or not. And so far nobody has. The one who are likely making most money on it is the hardware industry, but the ones building the AI data centers are going to be screwed. Investing billions only for new hardware to be released that can do AI more efficiently. Right now a lot of AI is done on general hardware like GPUs. But as AI purpose built hardware gets made, it will run it far more efficiently rendering billions invested in current hardware down the drain.

And due to a lot of the AI models being open, people can run at least small models locally. Reducing commercialization benefits.

Finally there is the issue of AI training, they have ran out of data to train AI. Even worse, a lot of new data on the Internet is AI made so the new data is poisoned with low quality AI data.

So sure, AI works well as an assistant as long as people don't blindly trust it. It will allow 2 people to do work of 5 people. But it has little to no monetization value.


The biggest investors like Google and MS may actually see less money because before when people searched and got ads through multiple pages. AI search for example makes people not go past 1st page and ignore sponsored listings
