It's crossed my mind ever since that talk about how rare the shock-absorbing material is: why doesn't Souma integrate our world's advanced mechanical technology to work in tandem with the isekai world's unique tech?
Take springs, for example. In our world, springs are made from metal alloys—which I assume are also abundant in the isekai world, perhaps even with superior properties. They can be mass-produced cheaply and could probably serve as a substitute for the rare armadillo fat.
I get that the author probably wants to emphasize technology unique to the isekai world, but it still feels like a waste not to implement ideas we already have in our world. Then again, it's also possible that Souma has the ideas but lacks the technical knowledge needed to actually reproduce them, which is why further research is still necessary in the isekai world.
