This is getting increasingly bogged down by tropes. Everyone has a tragic backstory and half the characters are Machiavelli-lvl schemers. I preffered it when it was just a dorky kid in a band.

Agree. Why is the theme of playing music in a band got turned into a battle full of cliche tropes? This is just like those "sport manga where it's actually just battle shonen in disguise" all over again. Why is this the only way of storytelling that JUMP know how to do???

This seems to be the formula for the current non-action shonen manga from Shonen Jump.

Anyone noticed that the flashback our Mister Takami had during the Godly Manifestation of Hatocchi while singing the intro to Blue Heart's Linda Linda was of his brother? The earrings position sorta matches. Before I thought Takami was imagining himself in a punk getup.
