Yeah... No matter what the Italians would have you believe, Finns don't typically eat potatoes with bilberries. At least not most of the Finns. I'm sure there are some eccentrics who do. Lingonberries, however, are a different thing. Sauteed reindeer with mashed potatoes and lingonberries is a world class dish. You could serve it to anyone but Gordon Ramsay.

Pretty funny Berlusconi's propaganda about the Finnish cuisine spread all the way to Japan.

Bilberry soup uses potato starch, you could also make a gluten free pie crust out of potatoes for a bilberry pie.
But you're definitely right lingonberries should be the thing Jatkosota girls are eating here
