Would "I've got this" work better in English for comedic misunderstanding here?

Hip: Look, I got this. (I caught this caterpillar)
Dar: Make sure you've got this, okay?!? (make sure you'll succeed in catching me, okay?)
Hip: Yeah, I've got this (this is the caterpillar I caught)

It would work but it leaves out Darj saying that she believes in Hip which I'd hate to omit
