The only girl that actually likes Izawa is Kamiya. All the other girls either just put up with him or hate him. Tanabe stinks like poop most of the time so girls don't approach him.

I've seen a few Ping Pong Club references in Golden Kamuy. Ping Pong Club was pretty popular in Japan it just didn't gain much traction in America outside of the anime getting a dub.
