Oh, I binge-read until the two most recent ones. I'm pretty sure the shark got jumped when the alien lady first showed up disguised as a new neighbor. The fact the mangaka decided to copy how she got a human form directly from Men In Black 2 and having the MC somehow involved in that backstop without remembering, probably because of some tech she has, is just jet-packing over the narwhal.

I mean, the tag prepared me for aliens. The execution is just a surprise.
