Golden Bat is a long time japanese cultural icon, the first superhero before even superman, despite appearances. He's gone through a lot of incarnations, all of them golden skeleton sort of vampires (often from atlantis), with this manga being one of them.

That being said, I love anything Golden Bat! There was this sort of parody called Wahaman about a golden skeleton robot from atlantis (there was a baseball chapter that alluded to the name) that I wish was still getting translations done. That's what introduced me to Golden Bat!
