Not how I expected Ogata to die, I thought for sure that Vasily might have been alive somehow and would come kill him. But I guess in a way this is the most reasonable way for Ogata to die, by his guilt weighing down on him.

RIP one of my favorite characters though. It's a shame no one else has commented on this chapter, I would love to see other peoples thoughts on this.

It was never guilt. That is no more than an incepted idea. If you're bombarded by an idea from without for so long with nothing but your own conviction to defend against it, is it so surprising that you might waver?
And if you're born without the means to be one of the privileged, is it not the most obvious course to channel whatever strength you do have into destroying the foundations of privilege?

What an interesting conclusion. Ogata had no wrong ideas, but the basis of his whole plan was to consider himself an evil person who can destroy the roles of "good people". In the end, he was crushed by conscience, by the doubt that he was also a good person

Bruh i thought Ogata was supposed to be a psychopath and because of that lack the ability to feel empathy and guilt... Welp i guess not then.... Maybe the poison really did lobotomized him and made him feel guilt for the first time and that overwhelmed him
