I wonder how the concept of this kind of absolutely fucking useless guy appeals to the author that they'd wanna write him like this. Is it like so that the reader, no matter how garbage they are themselves, can feel comforted in the thought that this shitty guy, who somehow manages to be even worse than themselves, can land this kinda hot chick? I mean, even if it's a complete delusion.
