He made a statue of an ideal looking woman, and fell in love with it because she didn't do things like "talking" and "breathing". Then Aphrodite went all "I ship it!" on them and make her, Galatea, a real person.

Yup, it really didn’t solve his problem as Galatea lives (breathing and talking and he has problems with those aspects)..
