from the little i seen people talk about it, it seems the adaptation of the novel wasn't the best either.
( not that I have read it myself )
So it seems it never got off the ground.

I'm not surprised. There's so much going on, the main character is way too nonchalant, and the fact everyone has the same (modern) uniform despite being on different sides... it undermines every good point about this story.
I mean, the description tells us something interesting that is entirely skipped. Why? I want to see the main character have that realization and escape the dungeon. I want to see him explore and show me what the world us like, I want to see him meet the female lead. I want to see their relationship develop.
How are we already facing a boss battle 3 chapters in?
I don't want another romantically dense main character, either. Once a romantic relationship is established, have the characters commit to each other, kiss and do whatever the world's version of getting married is. Actually bother to tell the story without the stupid eternal "will they, won't they?"!
These 3 chapters have been filled with red flags despite how nice the art, character designs and promise of exploring a fantasy world are.
