If anyone is curious the round is designed like a capped armor piercing shell.

The softer outer metal goes through plastic deformation and basically squishes onto an angled surface, redirecting the harder core to a more perpendicular impact with the target.

This reduces chance for ricochet and improves armor penetration.

During WW2 these rounds were called APC aka Armor Piercing, Capped.

But given the shape is streamlined to facilitate ballistics, its closer to an Armor Piercing Capped Ballistic Cap aka APCBC.

Why the FECK didn't he just kill them all at range? MC is supposed to be like what 30-40 mentally at this point and he just does this retarded moment? Also wolf girl firing those 2 revolvers like they have mag capacities of like 20 bullets. Theres no consistancy, logic and the art really needs to work better (I can live with bad art but scene composition being bad also is a huge issue).

On page 36 our gun otaku is seen quoting the Soviet manual “Наставления по стрелковому делу”.

I believe the original line of the 1987 edition of that manual actually says “7,62-мм модернизированный автомат Калашникова (рис. 1) является индивидуальным оружием и предназначен для уничтожения живой силы противника. Для поражения противника в рукопашном бою к автомату присоединяется штык-нож” according to that one P2P-shared DjVu file.

So, yes, for combat and even for hand-to-hand combat.
