Yeah, I guess not, probably just a superficial similarity because you can only draw so many different looking characters in the manga style; now that it's pretty much confirmed the other manga is a prequel of sorts for this one, though, there may be further connections. I don't think whatever's going on with Hayami is connected to the events of this manga, but there may be some shared mechanics with how the supernatural works between both mangas.

talk about superficial similarity, Hayami has a mole under her left eye, whereas ushi onna doesn't

mole can be a really defining feature, you will see in Tsurenai chapter 27
