The one saving grace is that this manga might be self aware about it, but idk, the platonic stuff always came off to me as wishy washy and lame, I hope author has more in plan than this, for now I'll let them cook

We're only one chapter in, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say the author does something interesting with this. I don't think something that is self aware enough to refer to "S" relationships is going to just define itself as a typical rip-off of classic stuff.

Least I have my fingers crossed.

in a big way, class s is the way it is because people couldn't get away with actually writing explicit lesbians so lesbian writers who wanted to write about lesbianism had to make do, which is why contemporary yuri that draws heavily on class s because this means that it can read in the lesbianism that was always intended in a more explicit way.
