At this point just ignore his comments if it bothers you. I don’t know what he’s done but lashing out at him doesn’t change anything.
I told you, I did ignore them even though they annoyed me when I saw them, it's only sensible to do so when it's someone else's conversation. However, when he talks to me personally (unprompted) in the same style, I think it's well within reason to speak up, especially since while not pleasant, I don't believe I was being rude or overly harsh in my initial response. I asked him to stop veering into that kind of territory, that was all. After he implied the problem was my supposed lack of "standards", well, I just gave him a preview what following this sort of logic ultimately leads to. Not very friendly, I admit, but hardly lashing out. If anything, you just got a lot more of that now. Since you were big enough to apologize, I also take back what I said, by the way.
