If you have a younger sister, you may feels like you dont want her to date any of your friends, especiallyyour enemies.
sure but why would they get a say? as long as the other guy isn't abusive or anything, a sibling doesn't have the right to stop them from dating.

I don’t think this is weird at all, it’s quite common in manga that family wants to approve of the person they’re trusting their siblings/children too if they have a good relationship

I agree that the manga is depicting it in a weird way I believe that the core concept is pretty normal and I daresay good. Oftentimes someone in love can see things with rose tinted glasses and ignore red flags someone with a clear head would be able to identify. While family shouldn't be the be all and end all in relationships bearing their advice in mind can prove to be valuable when choosing someone to spend an extended amount of time, energy and likely money with.

Good point. What I got frustrated by was the idea that the brothers have a right to completely block it. People you trust and who care about you can give you advice, expecially advice you don't want to hear, but they don't have the right to say "you have to listen to me and I say no".
