She's still garbage for abandoning her kid, but at least you can understand her mindset now when she did it.

So she didn't want to push her child too hard but also understood that it would be a great waste to not nurture her skills... They were both unhealthy obssessed with the game.

My reaction went from "god damn it its going the same as in the anime" to " WHY DIDN'T THEY ANIMATE THIS PART".

Again.

Yeah anime didn't do the manga justice.

So..she tried to end their rally game on purpose? Is that because Ayano was an obsessed little monster? Sounds like Uchika was battling between wanting her daughter to emulate her and not wanting her to be an obsessed monster. She could have always just changed the rules on Ayano and said "we only play badminton for x hours a day" the rest of the day we focus on other tasks.

Seems like Ayano became obsessed, but Uchika only fed that obsession. Where was Ayano's dad during all of this? Where was he when Uchika thought Ayano was too obsessed, where was he when Uchika decided to abandon both of them? Why did Uchika talk to his parents, but not him? Seems like her friend Akime should be talking to Ayano and Uchika too.

oh so Ayano was quite the badminton monster back then and the mother felt pressured even after abandoning badminton for the girl?
Though, i'll wait to see more of the flashback.

Uwaa! Ayano was so cute as a toddler. I can so imagine her stumbling all over the place carrying a badminton racket with her the whole time. This manga is starting to feel kind of genius. Like some female Frankenstein creating a superhuman athlete. It's like Uchika is terrified of what is taking place in front of her at every turn, but she can't help herself wanting to make her fantasy become a reality by shaping her little creation. Maybe that fear was part of why she left Ayano.
Uchika seems to have a lot of things in common with Ayano personality-wise. They both have a perverse mind inside a lovable character.

No need to understand reason of a retard. You don't go out there, wipe ass for everyone.
