I mean it's tough when you're a teen but long distance relationships are a thing, esp in a place like Japan where you can just take a train ride to travel 2-3 cities away instead of depending on a car /taxi ride. If not the story/timeline somehow dragging out and 4 hours in somehow the move is cancelled and it's awkward between them but maybe it would've been better if this had been set in the 80s (tho technically cell phones and emails existed around then too), but yeah i feel like it'd have more of an emotional impact (well not that we know for sure where he's going) if it was like "I'm going to america"/out of the country/asia lol
