Man I don't know how to feel... The fact that so many years on she still wasn't reading because of a rejection is bruuuutal. I don't agree with Togawa's take from a few chapters ago that Mamoru's actions didn't have the effect of turning her off reading cause it definitely did (though it totally wasn't his fault, which I think was more the point Togawa was trying to make). She loved reading enough to write her own stories before, so to give up reading altogether for so many years...just brutal. I'm glad we got to see her get closure in a sweet way this chapter, not that we knew her long, but...idk carrying that rejection for so long, and it affecting her so deeply, just hurts to see and imagine.
So cool to see all the dates on the book, and love how they tie together with her being the original one.
