Maruyama's "good points" count
221 (lol), 248 (in his own words), 364, 374(?), 606, 733, 762, 766, 766.1, 767, 828(?), 860(?), 888, 906, 936, 969(?), 1039(!!),
886(the opposite, but kinda based anyway), 980.1(really understands a girl's heart),
I actually started this specific count very early on, because of this chapter (and the one where he stands up to the girl dissing Mamoru). The reason being that, while Maruyama might seem bad at times, he deserves some slack/recognition for his good points. He can be rather considerate at times, and it takes a pretty big man to be the butt of the joke as often as Maruyama does. He may be perverse and desperate, but that also means he is honest about what he wants. It isn't necessary bad or "wrong" to be want a "significant other" that badly, but the biggest problem is that he sort of lets him dictate his thoughts/actions too often (like a lot of guys/people irl) and when lots of people (especially women) see that is hard not to have a less opinion of him for it (again, like some people irl). If he (and again irl people) realized that, he would probably be a bit better off for it.
